Face-to-face sessions & vaccinations FAQs

With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria, SHIPS will be offering face-to-face sessions as of the 1st of December 2021 to fully vaccinated clients. This is subject to change, pending additional government or APS recommendations.

We understand that everyone has different circumstances and needs. It is important that you receive support that is most suitable for you, so we encourage you to discuss preferences and concerns with the intake team.

How do I book a face-to-face session?

Face-to-face sessions will be available from the 1st of December 2021. If you would like to book or change an appointment to face-to-face:

If you are an existing client:

  1. Send through evidence of your vaccination status (PDF or screenshot via email).

  2. Contact the admin team to request a face-to-face appointment.

If you are a new client:

  1. Wait for the admin team to contact you if sessions become available

  2. Send through evidence of your vaccination status (PDF or screenshot via email) before proceeding with bookings

Please note, practitioners will offer both Telehealth and face-to-face appointments. Practitioners schedules will include a mix of Telehealth and face-to-face days and will be working either remotely or from our office. This means that you may not be able to switch to a face to face appointment last minute.

What if I do not want face-to-face sessions?

It is important that you are receiving treatment that is most appropriate for you - we can also provide treatment via Telehealth.

How do I provide evidence of my vaccination status?

To book a face-to-face appointment, we will need a copy of either your Immunisation History Statement or COVID-19 Digital Certificate. You can send a PDF or screenshot via email.

What if I don't want to provide evidence of vaccination?

We will not be able to offer you face-to-face sessions.

Where will my vaccination certificate be stored?

In your encrypted online file.

Why do I need to be vaccinated to attend face-to-face sessions?

We have a responsibility to maintain the health and wellbeing of our clients and staff. Vaccinations are required to minimise the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Are all SHIPS staff vaccinated?

Yes.

Is there risk of contracting COVID-19 if I come in for a face-to-face session?

While we are taking all recommended safety measures, in attending face-to-face sessions there is inherent risk of contracting COVID-19.

What if I have a medical exemption?

This is something that should be discussed with your practitioner in session.

What measures is SHIPS taking to be COVID-safe?

All SHIPS staff and clients are required to be fully vaccinated, ‘check in’ upon arrival, wear face masks and maintain hygiene, cleaning, and social distancing measures. Here are our safety protocols for more information.
