Sophie’s therapeutic approach prioritises openness, warmth, and non-judgement. She values fostering a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients and strives to provide a trusting space that encourages genuine self-expression and exploration. She sees these aspects of the therapeutic experience as paramount to creating meaningful change. Sophie’s approach considers the individual ecologically, understanding the profound influence our experiences with others and the wider world have on our individual mental health and wellbeing.
In the clinical space, Sophie has worked individually with children and adults presenting with experiences of anxiety, low mood, obsessions and compulsions, anger, self-esteem/self-worth, relational and interpersonal difficulties. She also has experience as a group facilitator, psychoeducational presenter, and psychological researcher. Sophie’s masters research explored expressions of femininity as defined and experienced by gender and sexually diverse individuals. Additionally, Sophie holds extensive experience working in sexual health and intimacy spaces and has a particular interest in working with clients who have experienced stigma due to their identity, self-expression, preferences, and/or personal experiences. Sophie is a LGBTQIA+ inclusive, kink and poly friendly and sex work positive practitioner.
